FieldEx uses a role-based permission system to control what each user can view or do in the mobile app. This ensures that technicians, planners, and admins only have access to features relevant to their responsibilities.
Each mobile user is assigned a specific role, such as Technician, and their access rights are pre-defined by the administrator. These access rights control modules such as Jobs, Assets, Spare Parts, Checklists, Transfers, and more.
What Technicians Usually Can and Cannot Do
Can:
View and update assigned job orders.
Check in and out of job sites.
Use digital checklists and submit forms.
View and utilize assigned spare parts.
Scan assets and parts using QR or barcode.
Update asset condition, capture meter readings, and upload photos.
Apply for leave and update profile settings.
Cannot:
Manage users or user roles.
Access admin settings or billing details.
Tip: Roles and permissions are customizable. Contact your planner or admin if you think a permission is missing or incorrect. If your company has special workflows, your admin can request specific permissions from FieldEx Support. |
Why This Matters
Ensures each user only accesses features needed for their role.
Reduces confusion and prevents accidental changes to system settings.
Supports field efficiency by simplifying the mobile experience.
Improves security and data integrity across the system.
