In FieldEx, every asset needs to be assigned to the correct place. This helps you track who owns it, where it is used, and what work has been done on it. You can assign an asset in three ways: Customer, Site, or Project.

Pro Tip: Choose the right structure early. Assets assigned to the correct Customer, Site, or Project will make your job reporting, scheduling, and servicing 10x clearer and faster.

Customer, Site & Project: Manage Your Assets According to Your Operations

Customer

Use this when the asset is used at a single location and doesn’t need to be tracked by branch or outlet. All jobs like installation, repair, and service are linked to the customer, so you can easily view its full job history.

  • You rent a coffee machine to Beanhouse Café and assign it directly under the Customer.

  • You rented 5 excavators to GreenBuild Contractors and assigned them under the Customer.

Site

Use this when a customer has multiple locations and you want to track where each asset is placed. Jobs are still linked to the main customer, but you can also monitor job history by site.

  • You rent coffee machines to RoastHouse Group and assign them to their Downtown and Uptown café sites.

  • You rented 5 excavators to BuildTech Corp and assigned them across their East Yard and West Yard sites.

Project

Use this when multiple assets are deployed in bulk for a one-time job. The project helps you manage all assets and job orders together, with full visibility during the project period.

  • You install 50 coffee machines for a new office tower and manage them under the Office Tower Setup project.

  • You deployed 5 excavators and support equipment for the Riverside Drainage Upgrade and managed everything under the project.
