FieldEx is designed to help Planners manage work orders, technicians, assets, and sites all from one centralised interface. This article introduces the layout of the system, how to move between key areas, and where to find the planning tools you'll use daily.

This article explains:

  • Where to find work orders, technicians, and assets

  • How to use the main navigation and filters

  • What each module is for from a Planner’s point of view

Main Layout Overview

After logging in, you'll land on the Dashboard or last visited module. The main screen layout includes:

  • Top Navigation Bar – Quick access to global search, notifications, profile settings, and support

  • Left Sidebar Menu – Main module navigation: Jobs, Assets, Inventory, Sites, Teams, Reports, Settings

  • Page Content Area – Dynamic views based on the module you're in (e.g., job calendar, asset list, task board)

Use the Search bar at the top right to quickly find jobs, assets, or customers by name, code, or reference ID.

Key Modules for Planners

Here’s how each module supports your role as a Planner:

Module

Planner Use Case

Job Orders

Create, schedule, assign, and track all work orders across sites and technicians

Tasks

Break jobs into specific technician actions, view status, add checklists or spare parts

Technician Calendar

View daily/weekly/monthly schedules, use Smart Assign, dispatch from map

Assets

Monitor asset condition, link jobs to assets, schedule maintenance, review lifecycle

Sites / Projects

Track where jobs are performed, assign assets, segment teams by service zone

Inventory

Check spare part availability, assign bins to jobs, manage technician stock levels

Filters, Views, and Tools

Every module offers built-in filters, bulk actions, and dynamic views:

  • Status filters: e.g., show only “Scheduled” jobs or “Completed” tasks

  • Technician filters: narrow by assigned team, zone, or user

  • Map View: visualise jobs, assets, or teams on a live map

  • Calendar View: switch between day, week, and month

  • List View: sortable tables with bulk edit and export options

Use the “Today / Tomorrow / All” toggles on task views to filter short-term workloads and spot overdue items.

Personal Settings

As a Planner, you can customise your FieldEx experience by adjusting:

  • Language and timezone – for correct timestamps and field visibility

  • Notification preferences – choose how alerts appear (email, in-app, mobile)

  • User profile – update your name, photo, or contact details
