How Asset Condition is Managed in FieldEx
Asset condition is updated through structured inspection jobs using checklists. A typical process includes:
Planner creates an inspection job and links the correct checklist template
Technician completes the checklist in the mobile app
Each checklist response is logged in the system
If configured, the asset’s condition and status are updated based on the results
Why this matters: This process ensures condition tracking is based on real field data no manual guesswork or outdated logs. |
How to View Completed Checklists
After an inspection job is completed, the submitted checklist can be reviewed at any time:
Path: Jobs > Open a Job Order > Checklist Tab
Click to view technician responses, photos, comments, and digital signatures
You can also view past inspections from the asset record:
Path: Assets > Open Asset > Checklist History Tab
This allows Planners to track inspection trends and identify recurring issues.
Condition Updates & Status Triggers
Some checklist items can trigger automatic condition changes:
Failing a critical step can set the asset condition to Faulty
Follow-up corrective maintenance jobs can be created automatically
Checklist questions can be tagged to update:
Asset Condition (e.g., Good, Fair, Damaged)
Asset Status (e.g., Available → Faulty)
Asset Meter Reading
