Technicians can update an asset’s condition or status directly from the FieldEx Mobile App, usually during or after completing a job, inspection, or checklist.
Common updates include:
Marking the asset as Operational, Needs Repair, or Under Maintenance
Changing the condition to Good, Worn, or Damaged
Method 1: Manual Update from Asset Module
Path: Module > Asset > Edit Asset
Updating an asset status can be done manually through the Asset module by editing the specific asset and updating the status to the current condition of the asset.
Go to the Asset module from the sidebar.
Select the asset you want to update.
Tap Edit Asset.
Update the asset’s Status and Condition based on current inspection or job outcome.
Method 2: Update via Checklist
Path: Module > Checklist > New Checklist
Another way to update an asset’s status is through a completed checklist. After answering all the questions, you’ll be prompted to review and update the asset’s current condition based on the inspection results. This ensures that any issues identified during the checklist are immediately reflected in the asset’s status.
Launch a checklist linked to the asset.
Complete all checklist questions.
After submission, you’ll be prompted to review and confirm the asset’s updated status and condition.
Tip: Use checklist-based updates when the status change is a direct result of an inspection or maintenance process. Manual edits are best for one-off or administrative updates. |
Why This Matters
