The FieldEx Technician Calendar is your dispatch command centre. It gives you full visibility into task assignments across technicians and teams, so you can plan, balance workloads, and respond to changes in real-time. Whether you're viewing by table or map, filtering by team, or checking a technician’s day, the calendar adapts to your planning needs.

This article covers:

  • How to navigate different calendar views

  • How to switch between table, map, and timeline formats

  • How to use the sidebar filters and colour codes effectively

Sidebar Sections

The left-hand sidebar is divided into three expandable panels:

  • My Task – Tasks assigned to the user viewing the calendar (for Planners with jobs)

  • Staff Task – Individual technician task list

  • Team Task – Tasks assigned to technician groups or teams

Each section shows subtabs for:

  • Today – Tasks due or active today

  • Tomorrow – Preview upcoming assignments

  • All Tasks – Full task list across any timeframe

Tip: Use the Team Task view for dynamic dispatching which is ideal when managing groups of technicians who rotate coverage or work zones.

Interpreting the Calendar View

Each task in the calendar is automatically colour-coded by the system to help distinguish users visually. Hovering over a task block will display key details like:

  • Job title and task name

  • Scheduled start time and duration

  • Task location

Use this hover preview to quickly assess workload distribution or identify overlapping schedules.

Map View for Location-Based Planning

In Map View, you can:

  • See all users plotted by location

  • View location of each users

  • Use filters to isolate technicians

This is especially useful when scheduling jobs in urban areas, managing regional teams, or minimising travel time.
