In FieldEx, you can transfer spare parts between bins whether across warehouses, vans, or directly into job orders. This helps planners and inventory managers ensure that the right stock is at the right place, ready for use. Transfers are fully traceable, making it easy to track part movement across the field.

Method 1: Transfer by Spare Part
Path: Inventory > Transfer > Transfer by Spare Part
Select Transfer by Spare Part
Choose the Spare Part Name (e.g., Oil Filter)
Select the From Bin, the current storage location
Enter the Quantity to Transfer (available shown)
Select the To Bin, this can be:
A different warehouse or storage bin
A technician’s user bin
A job order bin (for direct issue)
Optionally fill in Reference Number and Note for tracking
Click Transfer to complete
Method 2: Transfer by Bin
Path: Inventory > Transfer > Transfer by Bin
Select Transfer by Bin
Choose the From Bin (e.g., Warehouse-Rack-A1)
Select the To Bin (e.g., BIN-JLEE for Jane’s van)
For each spare part listed, enter the Quantity to Transfer
Optional: Add a Reference Number and Note for context
Click Transfer to execute the movement
Understanding Transfer Logic
Transfers in FieldEx follow a simple but powerful logic:
Parts are always moved from one bin to another
Each bin belongs to a location, user, or job
All transfers are logged, including quantity, source, destination, and comments
Common use cases:
Warehouse to Technician: Restock a van before a job wave
Warehouse to Job: Pre-stage parts at a jobsite depot
Technician to Technician: Hand off shared parts when covering shifts
Warehouse to Warehouse: Rebalance inventory across regional depots
Tip: Always confirm stock is available in the From Bin before starting a transfer. The system will block transfers that exceed available quantity. |
