Before starting work, technicians can tap on the linked asset in the job to view key details such as serial number, type, location, condition, and service history. Reviewing this info helps you understand what you’re working on and ensures you're servicing the correct asset with the right tools and parts.

Accessing Asset Accessories

Path: Side Bar > Module > Assets > Accessories tab

Some assets have accessories or linked components—such as filters, attachments, or auxiliary parts. In FieldEx, you can view these accessories by opening the asset profile and checking for any related items listed under additional info or attachments.

This helps ensure you are servicing the full equipment setup and not overlooking any connected parts that may need attention.

Viewing Related Jobs from the Asset Page

Path: Side Bar > Module > Assets > Job Order tab

From the Asset Details screen, technicians can tap on the Job Order tab to view all past and ongoing jobs linked to that specific asset. This provides a quick overview of the asset’s maintenance and repair history, helping you identify patterns, recurring issues, or incomplete work.

Use this feature to:

  • Review previous faults and resolutions

  • Check when the asset was last serviced

  • Confirm if similar issues have occurred before

Why this matters: This makes troubleshooting faster and ensures that no important context is missed before you begin a new job.

Viewing Meter Reading Logs

Path: Side Bar > Module > Assets > Logs tab

The Logs tab on the Asset Details page displays a record of all submitted meter readings for the asset. This includes entries like usage hours, distance, cycles, or other tracked values, depending on the asset type.

Technicians can use this tab to:

  • Review past meter readings

  • Confirm the latest recorded value

  • Track trends in asset usage over time

Why this matters: Keeping these readings up to date helps with preventive maintenance planning and accurate asset lifecycle tracking.

Viewing Preventive Maintenance Schedules

Path: Side Bar > Module > Assets > Maintenance tab

The Maintenance tab on the Asset Details screen allows technicians to view all maintenance schedules that have been set up for a specific asset. These schedules are designed to ensure the asset receives regular servicing based on time intervals, usage metrics (like meter readings), or both.

Within this tab, you can see:

  • Scheduled Maintenance Plans linked to the asset

  • Next Due Date for upcoming maintenance

  • Frequency of each task (e.g. every 30 days, every 500 hours)

  • Assigned Checklist or Job Template to guide the work

  • Status (e.g. Pending, In Progress, Completed)

Why this matters: Technicians should regularly check this tab to stay ahead of maintenance tasks and avoid missing critical service windows. It is especially important for high-use or safety-critical assets where failure can lead to downtime or operational risks.

Viewing Contracts Linked to an Asset

Path: Side Bar > Module > Assets > Contracts tab

The Contracts tab in the Asset Details screen shows any service, rental, or warranty agreements linked to the asset. This helps technicians understand the commercial or operational terms governing the asset’s maintenance, usage, or replacement.

From this tab, technicians can view:

  • Active Contracts covering the asset

  • Contract Type (e.g. rental, service level agreement, warranty)

  • Start and End Dates of the contract

  • SLA Terms such as response time or service frequency

  • Responsible Parties (internal or external)

Why this matters:

  • Before performing any service, it’s important to know if the asset is under warranty or part of a service contract.

  • If the asset is rented or on loan, the contract may include specific servicing rules, replacement guidelines, or billing conditions.

  • Technicians can avoid unauthorized work or accidental breaches by referencing contract details before proceeding.

Tip: This tab helps align your field actions with the asset’s commercial obligations, keeping service delivery compliant and well-documented.
