Using Notes to Communicate

Technicians can use the Notes feature in FieldEx to document observations, highlight issues, or share important information related to a job or task. Notes are especially useful for communicating details that may not be captured in checklists or standard fields.

How to Add a Note

Path: Module > Job Order > Task > Notes

  • Open the relevant Job Order or Task from the mobile app.

  • Navigate to the Notes section.

  • Type your message. This can include observations, clarifications, or internal updates.

  • Tap Save to attach the note to the job record.

Once saved, the note becomes visible to other team members, including planners and supervisors. Notes remain attached to the job record and are useful during reviews, follow-ups, or technician handovers.

Use clear, concise language so others can quickly understand and act on your updates.

Why this matters: Using notes helps maintain clear communication between field and office teams, ensures nothing gets overlooked, and creates a written history of job-specific insights or challenges.
