When to Use Asset Consignment
Use asset consignment when:
Pre-stocking project sites with backup equipment
Assigning spare assets to technician vans for emergency use
Preparing equipment in advance for upcoming jobs
Staging rarely used but critical items close to operations
How to Raise a Consignment Request
Path: Inventory → Consignment → New Consignment Request
Steps:
Choose what to consign – Select either Spare Parts or Assets.
Select consignment type – Choose a specific Asset/Spare Part or consign by type.
Identify source bin – Locate the Bin where the item is stored and select the items to request.
Select destination bin – Choose the Bin to transfer the items to, and add a Consignment Note if necessary.
Click Submit
The request will go through the approval process. The approver will be notified, and once approved, they will initiate the transfer. The consigned assets location will then be updated to the new destination bin.
What Happens Next
If approvals are enabled: A manager or admin must review and approve the request.
If approved: The approver will initiate the transfer for the asset or part requested.
Once transferred: The asset or parts location are updated automatically.
