Step-by-step Execution Flow

FieldEx provides a structured flow for technicians to follow from the moment a job is assigned until it is completed. Each step is supported by dedicated features in the mobile app to ensure nothing gets missed. This helps maintain service consistency, real-time updates, and traceable job records.

Useful Pre-requisites

  • You must be assigned to the job in FieldEx.

  • Ensure checklists, spare parts, and assets are properly linked to the job before starting.

  • Keep your mobile app updated to access all the latest features.

Step-by-step Execution Flow


Path: Home > Open Assigned Task

  1. Start Journey (if travel is required): Tap Start Journey before leaving for the job site to begin mileage and travel time tracking.

  2. Travel to destination: Tap Map Icon in Job Order Detail page and click on task icon to view directions to destination.

  3. End Journey (if travel is required): Tap End Journey after arriving for the job site to end mileage and travel time tracking.

  4. Check In: Once you arrive at the job location, tap Check-In to confirm your arrival. GPS may be captured.

  5. Review Work Order Details: Open the Job Order and verify customer, asset, checklist, and part requirements.

  6. Update Job Status: Change the job status to In Progress as you begin work.

  7. Execute Work:

    • Use Checklists to guide your inspection or service steps.

    • Utilize assigned Spare Parts and update quantities used.

    • Capture Meter Readings or update Asset Condition if applicable.

    • Upload Photos of before/after work or site issues.

    • Record Notes for any observations or recommendations.

  8. Check Out: After completing all tasks, tap Check-Out to log your site departure.

  9. Capture Signature: Use Sign & Complete to get digital sign-off from the customer.

  10. Generate Completion PDF: Review the summary and optionally email the job PDF.

Tip: Always follow the execution flow in order to avoid missing required steps. Use the checklist as your guide and complete all required fields before checking out or completing the job.
