Sometimes, a technician requests a part for a job, but once on-site, realizes it’s not needed or maybe the fault was different, or another part fixed the issue or there are excess parts unused during the job. Instead of leaving unused items in the field or causing stock mismatches, the technician can initiate a return process in FieldEx.
This ensures the part is transferred back to its original warehouse or location, keeping inventory accurate and ready for future use.
In FieldEx, this is done by initiating a Bin Transfer, moving unused parts from your User Bin back to the original Location Bin. This process ensures full visibility and accountability for all spare parts in the system.
Useful Pre-requisites
The spare parts must currently be in your assigned User Bin.
Know the original Location Bin to which the parts should be returned.
Ensure your user role allows bin transfer actions within the mobile app.
Returning Unused Parts
Path: Module > Bin > Transfer
Go to the Transfer module in the FieldEx Mobile App.
Tap Spare Part Transfer to start a bin-to-bin movement.
Select your User Bin as the Source.
Select the correct Location Bin (e.g. warehouse shelf) as the Destination.
Choose the spare part from your inventory list.
Enter the Quantity of unused parts to return.
Tap Submit to complete the transfer.
Tip: Always double-check the destination bin to make sure parts are returned to the correct storage location. This helps planners and store managers maintain accurate inventory balances. |
